| Description: | The desired Sybase Performance expert will assist in the performance tuning of the reporting database. Coordinate, develop and implement strategies to improve the current performance and future performance of the database. Develop and implement a comprehensive testing plan to improve current performance and handle future database growth. The candidate must have excellent Sybase performance tuning skills, T-SQL skills and SQL skills. Financial knowledge is beneficial. Perform a variety of assignments requiring knowledge of established development procedures and data processing requirements. Maintain and modify stored procedures and views. Handle production support calls regarding the database. Communicate with the development team and DBA team. Improve the development team’s database performance skills. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed. Desired Skills Must Have 1.Excellent Database performance tuning skills: a.Sybase – 12.5.3 and 15 2.Excellent SQL skills: a.SQL b.Stored Procedures c.Views 3.Ability to implement what is proposed 4.Detail Oriented a.Testing i.Build Test Suites ii.Load Testing iii.Performance Testing b.SQL c.Requirements 5.UNIX a.ISQL b.DBArtisan c.Shell scripts 6.Good communication skills: a.Ability to have business and technical discussions with dbas and developers. b.Communicate technical ideas to the development team. c.Handle support calls. 7.Support: a.Production Support: b.Trouble Shoot problems. c.Interact with customers by phone and email. d.Ability to make good decisions quickly and accurately. e.Communication Skills.
