| Description: | Application Database Architect The position is for a hands-on Senior Sybase Application DBA/Developer to work on a complex cross-business trading system in the Capital Markets group. The position requires strong technical Sybase skills and ability to lead large scale projects in a delivery driven and collaborative environment. The position is based in Chicago. Requirements include: •Advanced Sybase product knowledge – ability to code objects, change configuration settings and leverage tools in ASE (including both 12.5 and 15 versions) and ability to make recommendations to the application/database architecture to create more capacity and improve performance of the current system. •Required experience partnering with a development team (Java) to provide data modeling, query tuning, and integration advise. Toplink experience a plus. •Advanced performance tuning – well versed in transaction management, procedure design, query optimization techniques, tools and debugging, experience tuning queries and optimizing code for performance. •Advanced data modeling – understand business requirements, produce logical and physical design and experience using Power designer •Sybase replication server knowledge - The position also requires working knowledge of Sybase replication and reviewing/optimizing database changes for complex replicated environments. •An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required; an advanced degree or commensurate experience is preferred. •Prior Capital Markets experience is a plus. |
